Light emitting diodes, also known as LEDs, are light bulbs that are designed as a single, solid bulb. They were first used in applications such as Christmas lights, instrument panels and electronics. For household use, LEDs are clustered together in order to increase the light potential. One major difference between LEDs and traditional incandescent bulbs is that the light emitted by LEDs is more focused while a traditional light bulb has more a a diffused light.
